Gothic Bedroom Makeover
If you want to give your room a makeover that would reflect your dark and mysterious personality, consider decorating it in Gothic style. Whether you want to add just a touch of gloom or fill the entire room with it, you have many options on how to complete this home improvement project.
First, change the wall paint accordingly. Although black best represents this decorating style, it could make your bedroom look smaller and closed in. It would also be difficult to paint over, should you decide to switch to another decorating theme in the future. So settle for grey instead, which will still allow you to add wall accents in colours such as black or red.
Second, furnish the room with the appropriate furniture. Pick a bedroom set that have a medieval look and feel. You could add in items made of wood or iron as well. If you can find a bed with gargoyles as posts, then you can make that as a focal point in the room.
Third, decorate with the right accessories. Place antique candle holders in place of the usual lighting. You can even make the room look eerie with skulls, dragon heads, and statues as embellishments. Also, put canvas art that has Gothic style written all over it. You would probably find tons of artworks that use this theme.
Lastly, put up rich fabrics as wall hangings or window treatments. Pick materials that are coloured either deep purple or red to complete the mysterious appearance of the bedroom.
